Workshop on Resilient Infrastructure Policy
Click here to register through Eventbrite.
To conclude our Infrastructure + Resilience workshop series, we are thrilled to host a culminating final installment on May 22nd from 9:30am to 5:00pm at the Institute on the Environment. This event will celebrate and showcase our multi-year research on infrastructure resilience conducted by an interdisciplinary team from the University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment, University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership, and Center for Sustainable Building Research.
This final workshop will serve as a forum to reflect on the framework’s practical applications for current projects, identify further opportunities for system-of-systems policymaking, and chart a path for ongoing community engagement. Attendees will gain information that they can apply in their own work, share feedback that informs future research, and build collaborative relationships for the future.
In line with our legislative directive, the featured work explored how future weather trends may impact the resilience of Minnesota’s infrastructure in five key domains: water, agriculture, forestry, the built environment, and natural habitats. In response to our generated insights, we developed a conceptual Framework for Resilient Infrastructure Policymaking to identify effective action pathways for policy development that would enhance infrastructure resilience across these interconnected domains.
Through keynote talks, breakout sessions, and collaborative discussions, we look forward to sharing insights on balancing cost-effective climate adaptation strategies with diverse social and ecological goals. The registration fee is $10, and promotional codes are available upon request for discounted attendance (email: [email protected]). We hope you will join us in shaping Minnesota’s next steps toward robust, equitable, and future-proof infrastructure.
